App

Food search offline

Search downloads matching foods as you need them. Save the full catalogue before going offline.

Your data

While signed in, diary entries, targets, weights and preferences sync to Supabase in Ireland (eu-west-1), with a separate cache for this account on this device. A “Synced” status appears only after the server acknowledges current changes.

Progress photos stay on this device and are not part of account sync or account export. If photo scanning is enabled, it sends your selected image to our recognition service. Food and barcode searches may contact catalogue services. These services receive connection information such as your IP address.

Standard sign-out keeps this account's cached diary for your next sign-in. You can instead sign out and remove this account's data from this device after pending changes sync. Delete account also removes its server records. Pre-account device diaries and downloaded exports remain until you remove them.

Food Processing

Show optional daily, weekly and monthly Food Processing reports. This does not change calorie logging, micronutrients or Nutri-Score.

Age, height, sex and activity are saved for your profile. They are not used unless you choose a calorie estimate. Need a starting point? Use the NNF calorie calculator.

Vitamins & minerals

Totals only count what your food data actually carries. A missing value is not zero. Vitamin, mineral, fibre, sugar and salt figures come from a product label or your own manual entry.

NOVA 4
of all logged calories

Make this breakdown more complete (optional)

If a food is not classified, scan its ingredient list. That makes your percentage more complete and can classify the same product for other people.

Skip it if you want. Your diary still works. The photo is uploaded so we can read it and is not stored. We save the confirmed ingredient text, processing group and a one-way fingerprint of the photo. Your diary entry stays private.

What the groups mean

NOVA 1 is unprocessed or minimally processed food. NOVA 2 is processed culinary ingredients, such as oils. They share one segment here. NOVA 3 is processed food; NOVA 4 is ultra-processed food.

Unknown classification is shown separately. Percentages use all logged calories, not food counts. A processing classification is not a health score.

Foods behind the numbers

Editable reference values for adults. Changes apply from today. Leave a value blank to remove its target.

References are editable display targets. Label energy and macro references are independent figures; they are not a personalised meal plan.

Set protein, carbs and fat below and this follows.

Energy: 2000 kcal · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. 8400 kJ / 2000 kcal is the label reference. The diary calorie and macro settings are personal targets, not an RDA.

Protein: 50 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. 0.83 g/kg/day · EFSA PRI (Adults, including older adults).

Carbohydrate: 260 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. 45–60 % energy · EFSA reference intake range (Adults).

Fat: 70 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. 20–35 % energy · EFSA reference intake range (Adults).

30 g · UK SACN 2015 reference. 25 g/day · EFSA adequate intake (Adults). Not an EU label RI or universal Irish RDA.

90 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. No numeric value g · EFSA, no numeric safe level (Dietary sugars). Total sugars, not free sugars. EFSA could not establish a tolerable upper intake level or safe level in 2022.

6 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. 6 g/day · FSAI population maximum target (Adult population).

20 g · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part B, label RI. EFSA does not establish a numerical gram target for saturates; the label RI is not a safe upper limit.

2400 mg · Derived from EU salt RI, Annex I point 11 and Annex XIII. 2000 mg/day · EFSA safe and adequate intake (Adults). 6 g salt / 2.5 × 1000 = 2400 mg sodium. Not a separate Annex XIII sodium RI.

800 mg · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part A, label NRV. 950 mg/day · EFSA PRI (Adults aged 25+). 1000 mg/day · EFSA PRI (Adults aged 18–24).

14 mg · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part A, label NRV. 11 mg/day · EFSA PRI (Adult men and postmenopausal women). 16 mg/day · EFSA PRI (Premenopausal women).

5 µg · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part A, label NRV. 15 µg/day · EFSA adequate intake (Adults, assuming minimal skin synthesis; dietary intake reference, not supplement dosage). Irish context: FSAI publishes separate age-group recommendations; the label NRV is not supplement guidance.

2000 mg · EU Regulation 1169/2011 Annex XIII Part A, label NRV. 3500 mg/day · EFSA adequate intake (Adults; lactation has a separate value).

How we calculate

These are reference values, not individual requirements. Sugars means total sugars, not free sugars. Keep-under targets are your display preference, not a diagnosis or a safe upper limit.

Fibre starts at 30 g, from UK SACN. EFSA uses 25 g for adults. FSAI discusses both and an energy-based approach for older adults (pages 58-59). You can edit the preset.

Other presets use EU Regulation 1169/2011, Annex XIII. Vitamin D 5 micrograms is the label reference value; it is not personalised vitamin D guidance. Sodium 2400 mg is the 6 g salt reference divided by 2.5 and converted to mg.

Weekly targets add the targets recorded for all seven calendar days. Missing nutrient data is never counted as a known zero.
